Alisyn is now 2yrs old

Alisyn can sing the alphabet for the most part, she only misses 2-3 letter. I'd say that's pretty awesome for a 2 year old!She can also count to 12 and 20 if she repeats after us, she likes to count things, we encourage her as much we possible when it comes to learning new things. She loves loves loves her nursery rhymes, and Ziggy Marley, she will sing along to his songs in the car and it hasta be the cutest thing ever! She is a chatter box! I love having conversations with her, and her imagination grows everyday. Yesterday we talked about a dinosaur that smashed everything, he was mean and took alisyn toys, oh and he is the one who messes up her room LOL. She is so rambunctious at times, but then she can be so cuddly. I can tell already she is going to be an amazing little girl, she is so smart and catches on to things after the first time of doing them. Her memory is out of this world! I am proud and honored to be able to call myself her mother ♥

It's been ages!!
So Alisyn only has one speed and its go! We are currently in the process of potty training ... and well lets just say I am going to need to shampoo my carpet a few times! She has gotten better but it seems like she likes to wait until after I take her off to go potty in her panties. I do put her in a diaper at night and during nap times but as soon as she gets up she puts on undies!
Alisyn has really come out of her shell in terms of talking, she used to be pretty quiet in the words department unless you really dragged it out of her .. now she will try to say any word at least once. I am excited to say she hasn't said any "no no" words (knock on wood!).

Going Green!
So over the past year I have been slowly making the change be more "green" when it comes to our household items.
So what have I changed?? Well, Alisyn and I no longer use Shampoo and conditioner instead we use Baking Soda and Apple Cider vinegar (get the recipe from here:http://onjustacoupleacres.blogspot.com/2011/04/all-natural-hair-care.html) Ok, So i'll give you a quick run down on why Alisyn and I are doing this, Well It's A LOT cheaper(always a plus in my book!) and I know what is going on my daughter's head,not to mention I can go 5 DAYS without washing my hair(WAYY better then everyother day!)! I swear since going no 'poo our hair has grown at least 1 inch! We have been no 'poo for a month and a half.
We will be making the switch to homemade toothpaste as well once we get some wintergreen essential oil(http://arealfoodlover.wordpress.com/?s=toothpaste)
We have made the switch to using homemade cleaners instead of the chemical pack ones from the stores. This is my all purpose cleaner(http://www.inspired-housewife.com/2012/07/15/the-best-bathroom-homemade-cleaner-scum-remover/), this is my stain remover: http://www.learningtobeamom.com/2012/07/miracle-worker-stain-remover.html), I am also going to be trying my hand at homemade dishwasher soap(http://cupcakeapothecary.blogspot.com/2012/02/im-addicted-to-pinterest.html?showComment=1342541296592) and laundry soap (//www.thefamilyhomestead.com/laundrysoap.htm (p.s. you can make homemade washing soap read about it hear (http://naturesnurtureblog.com/2012/05/08/ttt-turn-baking-soda-into-washing-soda/)
Instead of Deodorant I use a dab of coconut oil under my arms and keeps me smelling good all day(p.s. I still sweat but that is a good thing!(http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/fitness/exercises/sweating-why-its-good-for-you.html#b) Why not use deodorant? well you can read all about why store bought deodorant is not good (http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/240324.php) and here is 52 uses for coconut oil (http://www.deliciousobsessions.com/2012/01/52-uses-for-coconut-oil-the-simple-the-strange-and-the-downright-odd/), I use Coconut Oil for a body lotion, lip balm, deodorant,hot oil treatments and of course cooking with it.
And as for our eating habits ..Well most people know I am a raw juicer, so my diet is usually 75% raw fruits/veggies and well Alisyn eats what I eat, I usually make her a juice that contains 1 apple and some kale(she love it!) she snacks on any fruit that we have in the house as well. Not to say we don't eat unhealthy.. we DO! But here is they way I see it, one bad meal won't make you unhealthy, and one healthy meal wont make you healthy. So since we usually eat a pretty healthy diet when we do have our bad days or even weeks, I don't get on myself, I think its better if I give my self some leeway when it comes to food :). I am very picky when it comes to Alisyn's food..what do I mean by that? well let see: I make Alisyn her own homemade raw vanilla almond milk(http://tasty-yummies.com/2011/04/28/homemade-raw-almond-milk/) I make her homemade juices with our steam juicer. I make her homemade granola bars(http://dinnersdishesanddesserts.com/no-bake-chewy-granola-bars/), homemade pudding pops, and home made crackers (graham/animal/cheese(http://weelicious.com/category/foodgroup-toddler-recipes/?s).Pretty much everything is homemade for her unless she is eating out with us, then its kinda the "When in Rome" mentality.

Signing
Alisyn Can Now sign "All Done"(she just throws her hands up but she doesn't rotate them yet)
She can sign "Milk"(as in mama milk).I am trying to teach her "Potty" so we can start potty training here in a few months or less lol.
She will mimic sounds after we prompt her for awhile(like an hour) We have gotten her do sing lalalalalala, gotten her to do the blue clue song bar bar bar babar bar bar( I think that is how it goes in text LOL) she will growl if we prompt her to, and she can click her tongue when prompted. I can't believe how smart she is already!
She responds to simple commands like:
NO
out
get back
sit down
get down
eat
put it down
sit at the table
take a drink
give it to me
give me 5
hand shake
hugs
kisses
squeeze
push
bite
drink(when drinking from a straw)
go get ...(a toy etc)
clean up/ put toys in the the box(toybox)

pull I never in a million years would've image the amount of love I have for such a small person! Alisyn is my world and as I teach her things and I see her accomplish things on her own it brings tears to my eyes to think that this will only happen once and that there are not enough minutes in the day to express to her my love and my hope for her to have a bright beautiful future♥ That is all I got for now :0)

Self Weaning
So the time has come, Alisyn is now starting to self wean :/ She is 13 months and only nurses 4 times during the day and sometimes once a night. She eats on a schedule(she set the times) she nurses at 4:30 am and 7 am, eats breakfast at 9 am, nurses again before nap time around 11:00 am, wakes up at 12:30ish pm eats lunch, nurses before nap time around 4:30ish pm, wakes up eats dinner around 6 pm, drinks a raw juice of one apple and a stalk of kale(otherwise I would only get half my juice!) before bath time at 8:30 pm (times vary).
I am terribly sad that she is already self weaning, but I am VERY proud of our breastfeeding journey...BUT it's not the end yet, I hope to keep her nursing those 4/5 times until she is 18 months, anything after that will be a bonus! I would love to make it to two years, but if we don't I will not be disappointed :)
Alisyn is starting to babble more and more with more and more words thrown into the babbling mix! I love watching her try to figure out a new object and when she randomly starts yelling at whatever object she is toying with because she can't figure it out....I wish I could understand what she is saying! I am in the process of teaching her sign language, I think she will catch on quick, but we shall see!

The lost months of October and November!
October Highlights:
Well in the month of October Alisyn started to walk and Stand up by herself! For Halloween She was a Chicken,cutest chicken I've ever seen(but i could be bias LOL).
November Highlights:
Alisyn Started saying juice and mom and dad as clear as day! Her Birthday was on the 30th which we had a great turn out! She got tons of toys and clothes, She had a blast!! When it came to eating her cake, she however didn't get messy enough for me fast enough so, I did what any loving mother would do .... and pushed her face in the cake(she didn't cry one tear!) She loved her cake! I made it from scratch(because i'm a nut like that!) it was a Strawberry Poke Cake...mmmmm boy was it good!

Alisyn's Year Check Up
So Alisyn had her year check up ...
Her doc said she is doing great! She just wants Alisyn to gain more weight. She weighs 17lbs, she is 30in long, and her head is 17 1/4in. I expected to hear some resistance when she found out I was still nursing and planned on continuing until baby says otherwise(or until two years), not a word about it! She asked me about vaccines and I once again said no, Then she asked me if I gave Alisyn any whole milk, to which I replied " No, she will not be getting cows milk unless it is raw cows milk, she will more then likely have raw almond milk since it has more calcium then cows milk any ways" and she smiled at me and said i couldn't agree more and she gave me a phone number for a farm that sell raw milk and farm fresh eggs and then asked me how I make almond milk and so I told her and she couldn't believe how easy it was! This made me like her even more!! Ohh and Alisyn likes her as well :)

9 month check up
So Alisyn hasn't gained any weight since her last check up she has grown though she is now 27 1/2 inches long! She is right on track when it comes to her milestones.
Alisyn now has 4 teeth! .. and let me tell you when she bites while nursing it is not cool!
So i started to sleep train Alisyn and kinda didn't follow through since she was teething ... but the last two nights she has slept from 9pm-4am and then she nurses and wakes up again at 6 am going to try and take away the 4am feeding since she also wants to nurse at 6am. im super happy that she removed the 2am wake up call by herself! Also her naps are no longer short 30-45 minute now they are 1 1/2 to 2 hour naps! (this means i get a nap as well! lol)
Alisyn walks along EVERYTHING! She also pulls herself up and can stand by herself for about 10 seconds! and if she holds onto our fingers she can walk pretty darn good! i cant wait till she starts walking and talking more! just need to get a few more baby gates before it happens lol

Alisyn's First Night ..
So Last night was Alisyn's first night sleeping in her OWN room .. it was bittersweet i did miss her tons! but she did better sleeping in her own room last night then she did sleeping in our room .. so i hope now that she is in her own room she will sleep better trough the nioght she is still up at 7 am UGH! So i guess im going to start ECing again in the morning and after her naps :]]
She is having a rough time with her top two teeth cutting through :/
She is now walking along the furniture, and pulling herself up with ease. She can also stand on her own for a few seconds.

Top teeth!
Alisyn's top teeth are starting to break through! i cant wait she is going to look so darn cute with 4 teeth!
She now crawls at the speed of light it seems lol, she pulls herself up like nothing and she can take a few steps along the furniture while holding on of course. She seems to have a new sounds everyday and i love it! she can now pronounce mom and dad with ease and its AMAZING to hear her say mama it warms my heart♥
she is now eating two meals a day the consist of fruit/veggies which she feeds herself. She is doing awesome with her food and it kinda neat i guess in a way to see her poop change LOL
besides the two meals she is still breastfeed that makes a total of 8 1/2 so far and not a drop of formula :]]

First Family Trip!
We went on our first family trip to Vegas (for my birthday LOL)
Lets just say the drive is killer! Alisyn did pretty darn good for being in the car off and on for 11 hours there and 13 hours on the way back(we did a 2 hour detour).
She did AMAZING with all the site seeing we did as well. we got some great pictures of our little one! she got to get up close and personal with a big fish tank and she was so intrigued by the fish and the colors! She also had a blast when we saw the Sirens of Treasure Island the color the singing the cannons she was in love!
Alisyn's Recent Milestones:
She can pull herself up on EVERYTHING!
she can walk along the sides in her playpen ... she has yet to walk along the furniture
she says mama like nothing now i love it!

Tons of milestones!
So Alisyn has hit tons of mile stones since ive last updated this blog
she has :
Learned how to crawl, how to sit up by herself,learned how to say dada and she said mama for the FIRST time last night ..when she was mad at daddy LOL, she has learned how to pull herself up on EVERYTHING! she is a pro when it comes to BLW now she can chew food with her two teeth♥ she can make gosh knows how many different sounds(i love all of them!), not a milestone .. BUT her hair is getting longer and its turning redder!
on a sad note .. her eyes are no longer blue :/ they are a hazel color with a blue ring around them .. still beautiful eyes but i loved the blue!
Yesterday was our first 4th as a family and we saw a total of 3 fireworks shows, she LOVED the colors, the bangs from the fireworks didnt bother her one bit :]] , she did however invent a new game to where she sit and screams for the fun of it .. and when you look at her she gets the biggest grin on her face!
she weighs a total of 16.2 pounds and she is now 7 months and 5 days♥

Elimination Communication
Alisyn and i just started practicing EC today like 30 mins ago, i decided we were going to jump head first in to EC and i must say when she went pee in the toilet the first time .. i teared up!!! i could believe how rewarding it would be for me, and the smile she gave me was kinda like ... oh ya i just peed! LOL
going to work on it till we have it down pat! cant wait im sure ill get peed on plenty.. but that the name of the game :]]

6 months old!
WOW i cant believe how big my baby girl is getting! we just got home from her 6th month check up, and im happy with the results,
she weighs 14.13lbs
she is 26in tall
if i put her in the sitting position she can stay there until she decides to roll around :]]
she puts her self to sleep (she mumbles until she passes out LOL )
SHE CUT HER 2nd tooth today!!!
so hows nursing with teeth ... she has yet to chomp down so thats good! i feel no difference until she turns her head and breaks the latch that way ... then ya it hurts lol
her doctor said she is looking super healthy and happy(all smiles),
funny thing happened when we were leaving the doctors room one of the ladies at the desk looked at me and said "no shots?" and i looked at her and said "nope, she dont get shots" and she smiled and said she agreed with me and i said i wish more people felt as we did (pretty awesome i thought)

My First Mothers Day ♥
So my first MD was wonderful!
My love got me a whole new cookware set!! and new oven mittens and pot holders :]] ... ohhh he knows me so well :]] ive been looking for a new set for a while! now just a cast iron set for camping and ill have all my cookware i need for now LOL
then he took me out to eat .. it was just the two of us and it was nice! then we rounded off the day at the shooting range :]]
and when we got home Tj looks at my garden and say hey what are these growing... and sure enough my salad greens are coming in and my broccoli are as well! i am super excited to say the least, I'm waiting for my carrots and peas to pop up now ... and still need to get my matters planted :/
let just say i couldn't have asked for a better First Mothers Day ♥
My love got me a whole new cookware set!! and new oven mittens and pot holders :]] ... ohhh he knows me so well :]] ive been looking for a new set for a while! now just a cast iron set for camping and ill have all my cookware i need for now LOL
then he took me out to eat .. it was just the two of us and it was nice! then we rounded off the day at the shooting range :]]

I see white!!!
I finally see white!! her teeth are finally cutting thank goodness! i cant wait .. once she has he teeth im going to start Baby lead winging :]]

Long Time!
No update ;]]
Ok so here is whats happening so far ...
Alisyn is almost 5 1/2 months,
she has her 6th month check you at the end of the month....someone please slow down time!!!
She is now mobile, she can pretty much roll across the living room and she will sit there and roll back and forth in one spot to change direction/angle LOL
she has masted her sippy cup ... not the straw sippy cup (she dont like the small straw lol )
she loves loves loves her jumper!
she is trying to do the army crawl.....she will work her little feet and her littler arms dont move and get so mad ... but shes trying! and for 5 months i think shes doing AMAZING!
still no shots
i took her off her reflux medicine she no longer needs it been off it for 2 weeks and i think her spit up is now at a normal level if it elevates i might put her back on but i dont think that will happen :]]
she would also give she-ra a run for her money when it comes to her death grip LOL,
she has been doing awesome when it comes to trying new things .. like apple juice i made her from organic cameo apples , she is a little leery of the apple sauce still LOL but she has also tried prune juice (due to not going)...she HATES it lol
it seems like she gets bigger everyday, it makes me sad and happy ... when i stop and think how long she has been here with us its baffling i still cant believe it!

Easter!
well Easter was great! i made cream cheesecake cupcakes with raspberry syrup (homemade of course)and they were a hit! everyone enjoyed them ... i also made a ham that i thought turned out dry ... but everyone assured me it tasted yummy :]]
Alisyn had a wonderful day, we started it off by going to the Rivera family potluck .. had fun there, saw family that i haven't seen for years! and they got to meet my lovely daughter ♥
Then we went to the Ritchie family dinner... and it was delish! had a blast, watched an egg hunt, and got to see all the kids with their eggs and baskets&heats;
then we ended the wonderful sunny day at the Nampa shooting range :]] ...our new Easter family tradition LOL Alisyn is awesome at the range .. she usually falls asleep LOL .. and i love shoot when ever i can ... i am currently ambidextrous with our AR-15 .. and im loving it LOL
well that was a quick run down of our first family Easter :]]

4 Month check up!
So Alisyn had her check up yesterday ..
and she dropped in all her percentages :/
she now weighs 12.15oz
she is 24 1/2 inches long
and i believe her head is 24 inches as well ... (not sure :/)
but other then that she is doing amazing!!
shes trying to crawl already .. and she cant even roll from back to belly lol
she just got her Easter pics done yesterday .. and we got some family pics in there as well :]]
cant wait to see all of them! I even got TJ to keep his hat off ♥

Almost 4 months!
Alisyn is almost 4 months! Goodness i can't believe its been that long! (i know i always say that!) but its true time is flying bye so fast its unreal ... i mean i had her wearing shorts(inside the house)!
OK anyway.... Alisyn is very smart! she is VERY vocal ... she screams when she talks i love it .. because she'll do these soft little screams and then she'll get the biggest grin! or she'll just stare and you with her big ole eyes ♥ Oh how i love her so! she is getting so BIG .. i mean she is a chunky monkey! and its all mama milk LOL she does eat fruit from her fresh fruit mesh thingy .. she loves her bananas and strawberries! i mean she goes NUTS for em LOL
She has her 4 month check up on 4/04 .... you think she'll have a luck day ... all fours LOL
OK anyway....
